Montgomery, AL--The Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts has been selected as a finalist for a $10,000 Pepsi Refresh grant, but we need the help of the public in making it to the finals. The project is called “Thrill 6000 school kids on 154 buses with their 1st museum experience!” and is up for voting on Refresheverything.com.
The proposal will allow over 6,000 students enrolled in the Montgomery Public School system to gain exposure to the arts and will include a three-part tour with exploration time of the Museum and an art project. Oftentimes, the Museum tour is the only art education these children receive. The grant money will provide the funding needed for the transportation of the children to the Museum as well as the supplies needed for the art project.
There are several ways in which the public can vote:
1. Through the Pepsi website:
a. Go to refresheverything.com
b. Click “sign-in” at the bottom left side of webpage
c. Choose to complete sign-in through Facebook or Pepsi
d. Search for Thrill in the search bar
2. Text 108387 to Pepsi (73774)
3. Look for Power Votes on specially marked boxes/bottles of Pepsi products to get extra votes
Please note proxy voting is not allowed. Pepsi is monitoring the website to pick up on voting from multiple email addresses. The Museum must be within the top 15 ideas out of 200 projects in the $10,000 category to win. Vote daily through September 30.
