Bassmasters Return to Capital City

July 28, 2011

Montgomery, Ala. – The Montgomery Area Chamber of Commerce Convention and Visitor Bureau is excited to announce the return of the Bassmaster’s Toyota Tundra Elite Series and Evan Williams Bourbon Championship to Montgomery’s Riverfront Park July 29-31, 2011.

 

This is the third consecutive year that BASS has brought the championship to Montgomery and the River Region. “I think I speak for many when I say we are thrilled that BASS has chosen to bring this family-friendly event back to Montgomery for a third year,” Vice President Dawn Hathcock said. “Events of this capacity ensure that Montgomery has truly become a city to target for large-scale, national sporting events.”

 

The professionals will compete Friday through Sunday while the fans will be treated to family fun events at the Union Station Train Shed. All events are FREE and open to the public.

 

The schedule of events is listed below:

 

Friday-Sunday:

* 7:30 a.m. pro takeoff (Riverfront Amphitheater)

* Mercury Choice of Champions Demo Tour, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.  and Mercury Films Festival

* 5 p.m. weigh-in

* Toyota Casting Pond

* Eukanuba Super Dock dog-jumping fun jumps and competitions

 

Saturday:

* Evan Williams Bourbon & Big Green Egg Grilling with the Greats Cook-off. Sampling at 2 p.m., then a competition on the Bassmaster stage from 3 p.m.- 4:30 p.m.

* Featured at 5 p.m. weigh-in: Hope for the Warriors Fishing Tournament.

* 6:30 p.m. Darryl Worley concert

 

Sunday:

* Featured during 5 p.m. weigh-in: Participants and results of the Bassmaster Legends Fishing Tournament and Auburn vs. Alabama College Classic.

* 6:30 p.m. Easton Corbin concert
